Introduction

Food security is paramount in any particular nation and plays a major role in achieving other sustainable development goals: poverty eradication, good health and well-being, decent work, and further economic growth. Rural development not only plays a major role in eradicating poverty by providing alternative sources of livelihood but also significantly contributes to agricultural growth and food security.

Therefore, this training aims to aid personnel in the agricultural sector in; monitoring and evaluating rural development, assessing their impact, and data management and analysis and its interpretation for policy making for development agenda.

Cost

The individual cost for the onsite training workshop is USD 1700 for individual participants and USD 1300 for groups above 10 participants, exclusive of 16% VAT.  Participants attending the onsite training will be responsible for their travel expenses and arrangements, such as airport transfers (and visa application, where necessary), food and accommodation, health/accident insurance, and other personal expenses. The Virtual Cost of the training is USD 1,300 for individual participants and USD 1000 for groups above 10 participants, exclusive of 16% VAT. This covers the training fee, resource materials, and conference package.

Intended Attendees

This general training targets a variety of program staff, management team members and thematic staff, Project Management Officials, government officials, program managers, policymakers, and program implementers; development practitioners and activists and NGO and CSO members; and Research organizations, among others, for Agriculture support activities.

Aim

This course is delivered through interactive lectures, case studies, and simulation. The aim is to provide competency and skills to technical staff to create cutting-edge monitoring and evaluation staff across organizations who can effectively monitor and evaluate agriculture, food security, and nutrition programs.

Objectives

At the end of this training, you will be able to:

  • Gain insight into the principles of monitoring, evaluation, and impact assessment in food and nutrition security.
  • Strengthen their competence in designing, monitoring, and evaluating FSN programs.
  • Come up with clear ideas for improving monitoring, evaluation, and impact assessments for food security and nutrition programs.
  • Appreciate the need to integrate gender roles in the development of FSN programs.
  • Gain skills in qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis in M&E for food security and nutrition programs.

Post-training mentorship
